Hi Guys,
I am in the mind set of buying a 73 202 HQ 1 tonner. Overall the ute is in great condition. I wanted to get some tips about what to check in regards to the engine.
Engine is a 202 with triple carbies What is the disadvantages about triple carbies in terms of adjustment and parts etc?. When I drove the ute it was running very rich. Is it easy to adjust? Would it be better to change to a single carbie for reliability and ease of tune up?
Tranmission is celica 5 speed
Appreciate any feedback?
Cheers Wayne

Itll be pretty thirsty. If the cam isnt too big change it to a 186S/GTR manifold and carb (or 253 carby). With a 202 and 5spd itll be a pretty good ute. Also, check the chassis for cracks around the upper control arm and shock mounts (the "tower" welded |
