OK, I'm trying to help out a neighbour who has a VR V8 auto.

The initial problem was the car kept stalling. He gets it home and now when you start it, it idles then when you touch the accelerator it stalls, when you go to restart, it kind of like back fires then stinks of fuel and won't start.

He has replaced the fuel pump as he thought that was the initial problem, still the same.

Any ideas folks would be great.

Thanks.

Dont look at it as being a problem look at it as being a challenge.

The ALDL plug is under the dash next to steering column.
Looking at the 16 pin plug, the top row has 8 pins with #1 starting on the left, bridge out pins 5 and 6 with the ignition in the "ON" position and note the CEL(check engine light)flashing on the das

I found this as well, so he can work it out for himself, as I told him once upon a time a screw driver and a pair of pliers would get anything started thats worth starting. Haha.

Hi Jamie.

TCC = Torque Converter Clutch. All V6 automatic Commodores have these.

You might have been thinking about TCS, which is Traction Control System.

Dr Terry
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
