OK, the kids were playing in the front seats and they broke the indicator stalk. I've bought a new one, and I've got the steering wheel off, but what's next?

Do I need to take the dash facia off to get to the bottom of the steering column?

Hi peter. The indicator is held in by a screw, im sure you could see that from the drivers seat. The wires that go down the steering column have a clip/harness thing which should end just under the dash, you wont have to take off the fascia to undo the cl

Thanks Nat, The problem was that I had actually bought the wrong replacement stalk. I believe I bought a WB Statesman Series II Indicator stalk whereas I needed a Series I (1982) stalk. This has a longer cable. I was getting confused as the broken one ins

Commodore stalks are the same (in appearance) as WB ones, but the cable is only half as long - you probably got one of them instead.
