i'm looking at getting a 355 stroker kit for my hq and some of the kits are balanced and some are not

so i went to a local reconditioner and asked how much to balance one of these kits, the better ones by eagle, scat etc, not the ones that take 10kg of mallory metal per cheek

$500-$700

BLOODY HELL !!!!!!!!!

i thought some of the retailers offered balancing as a $1-$200 option. when i mentioned this to ned, he said he didn't want to get into a discussion about $200 balancing jobs

so am i being unrealistic ? (it did include flex plate and harmonic balancer. big effin deal). or are we being bent over our bonnets on the sunny coast of queensland

yes sonny, it's an HQ ute

Hmm, ill consult the old man (engine reconditioner) but usually its a case of you get what you pay for. These things take time. Also, theres static and dynamic balancing. Check whats being referred to when prices are quoted.

no way should you be charged that! thats highway robbery. $300 at the most, as the kits could balanced from the manufacturer.
