just wondering if anyone could tell me the build date, or anything about my Trimatic auto.
on the front left of the gearbox there is a small tag with numbers on and around it.
anyway, on that small tag it has a C then 0472243.
just underneath the tag, stamped into the gearbox itself, is:
057
55
with some odd shape cirlce stamp just to the left of that.
i have no ideas.. and it may just be a serial number.. but whatever eh! thanks for any help. :)

HI RDS THE PLATE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BOX IF ITS STILL THERE YOU CANT MISS IT ATB

youre not talking about the metal tag/plate on the front left? its the only riveted-on thing i can find on both my trimatics, and both are just silver with the letter C followed by a line of numbers on them.
are these two letters just stamped onto a p |

Hi RDS The plate that is riveted on is the plate they are talking about but the main letters are missing by the looks of it. i have another trimatic with a tag that looks the same. no letters. hopefully they werent painted on! :S
happen to have a pic of a trimatic with the letters on it? i might have to have a look at the cars at the wreckers...

and after looking at my two gearboxs I would say that they are painted on to the tags. Paul.

neither of my boxes have ANY of that red paint left.. so no letters at all. ah well.
anyone have any ideas of what that 057/55 could |
