It's out of a HQ - Late HZ Kingswood, Premier or Monaro. I am interested if it's a late 11/73 to early 1/74. Whats the date code located on the top front of the block next to the timing case, e.g. A123, 12A3, etc.

look on the front on the block. whats the casting numbers say also. and where are you at

all i can see is 1788 or 17b8 what will that be,
where do you get the engine number info from

would i get away with a block that early for a 6 month 78 HZ Sandman? or would i need another block to start with a QT number............. Jamie

I think its a bit too early as most appear to have an engine dated within a month or so from the build date.
