Hi -
Hoping someone can help me, as I can't seem to find my owner's manual for love or money...
i have a 1996 AU falcon futura wagon. last night i noticed my brakes lights have gone, and this morning i realised my indicators had too (no lights, no sound). i opened the fuse box and noticed that a large black plug (top left) was quite hot. i took it out and put it back in and now my indicators work again but still no brake lights.
can someone tell me, should i replace this black plug/fuse? also, can anyone with the manual tell me which is the fuse for the brake lights?
thanks everyone, i really appreciate your help.

I know that the EF EL models brake pedal switches were common to fail, but You are right in checking fuses first. The black plug is most probably a relay, but I know nothing on AU's so hopefully someone else can help you out in identification.

you know what fixed it? magic WD-40! it wasn't a fuse but the brake/stop light switch at the top of the pedal (like you said). just a spray and a wiggle and we're back online. as for the relay, it's still getting hot, so i might get an auto-electrician t
