hi
how important is balancing a stock factory replacement crankshaft on a small block chev ?
i need to fit a recoe'd crank into my 350
the engine is a bog stock '69 4 bolt with a rusty crankshaft
i have a bog stock factory replacement that has been re-ground to -10/10 by P.A.W. (california)
now i'm sure that the cranks were balanced at the factory, but not sure if they were balanced to the reciprocating and rotating assy's that made up the rest of the engine or just balanced on their own
so if someone can help with a definitive answer, i'd be mighty greatful

It is better to get it balanced (with piston and rod weights measured), but for a street car it should be OK. They are balanced as a rotating assembly, but because of the huge amounts of combinations you would never know if the replacement crank has been |
