Could anyone give me a realistic figure of how many MPG I could expect from an NL Fairlane 5.0lt. I live in NW NSW and most of the travelling is long distance on cruise control. Thanks.

about 12 or 13 litres per 100km doing what you describe.

If at first you don't succeed then skydiving is not for you.

Agreed, I had a 5.0L EB Ghia wagon, used to be 14.7L per 100km around town and 12-13 on the highway, that was just regular unleaded too.
