hi all
just wondering what block numbers, ie up to what engine number should i be looking for to transplant into my hq ute
i want to avoid the bureucratic bungles that MAY occur by fitting a later model engine, and the compliancing of the engne which i may be forced to do
so, like to know what to look for

Anything up to and including the HJ will have the same ADR requirements as the HQ, however the engine numbers dont change prefix until the part way into HZ, so check with your rego authority on whether they go by engine prefix numbers, engine number range |
You only have to be in front at the end of the race. |

You want a block with a number under Q*570000 thats around Sept 74. Not sure why the numbers are so high were Torana, Gemini and other models engines no. sequential with the HQ series surely there werent 85000 Nasco engines built. Leroy |

Torana was it's own series (except for LX's and UC's with XQL prefixes) and Nasco/GMP&A blocks also had their own sequence. I've never been sure why engine numbers outstipped HQ production by a large amount given the series started at xxQx1001 and as Mr J |
