the temp light on hq 6 stays on all the time while the car is running i changed the sender no difference the cars not getting hot any ideas on the fix oao

Hi John, The temp light illuminates when the temp wire is earthed through the temp sender, which is a variable resistor.. Check to see whether the wire has chaffed to the body . This will earth the circuit and turn the light on. also check the light with

Hi Guys.

That maybe the problem. The temp sender for a light is a switch, not a variable resistor.

A sender for a gauge is a variable resistor, you may actually a gauge type sender.

Do as chevguy suggested, disconnect the sender wire & turn the i
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

thanks for the info guys to disconnect the wire was the only way it would go out so it has to be the sender i got the alternator light to work properly i simply cleaned the dust from in and around the fuse box and fuses cheers
