Q. How do I know that my engine has a bore glazing problem?
A. You will notice one or more of the following symptoms:
1. Loss of compression
2. Excessive blow-by
3. Loss of power
4. Excessive crankcase pressure
5. Oil blowing out of breathers

A cause is excessive idling, or constant running at fixed feed. That is why you run a new set of rings or new engine in by driving at varying speeds. City traffic is good for running in as the speeds vary a lot.

I have heard that the rough (pardon the pun) but effective way to get rid of glazing in bores is to rev the engine and shake Ajax down the carby.

The Ajax scuffs the glazing off the bores.

You could be a little bit less butcherus and remove

It's not purely idling, it's running at any constant speed for lengthy period, like cruising at 100k for several hours.
