Can anyone tell me whats the standard bore of a 253 Holden V8 engine and what is the maxiumn they could be bored to.

max is 60thou Bore Size :92.08mm/3.63in
Stroke: 77.79mm/3.06in

Same as a 202 or 186 - as Vintage says (3.625").

Pro stroke take the 253 out to 95.6mm
the theory is 253 have more metal around bores to bore out with...

I pretty sure they also sell the parts when they go bang too!! pro stroke are a good mob, im not baggin them but as Byron says they are the figures.still not as big as a 308 why bother? |

253 stroked out is actually 310 cubic inches....so yes it would be worth it....it has a vastly superior bore/stroke ratio.
just remmber when P76s came out 4.4 litres = 5. litre holden.
