Gday all, great site you have here.
Just wanted to ask a question about roofracks on a HZ Sandman Van. I've got a set on my Flamenco Red van that look of a similar style to what you would normally see on a wagon. There's a chrome rail around the edge supported by 6 chrome legs and then has 5 or 6 strips attached directly to the roof.
I've been looking around this site (and every site linked from it) for the last couple of days and haven't seen any other Sandmans with this on it.
Is it a genuine Holden rack for the vans or something aftermarket that everyone has taken off their restored vans?

hi
if I'm thinking of the same thing, they were commonly called 'coffin racks' due to their similarity with what you see atop a hearse!
cheers franklin

I have Just removed my coffin rack of my Van for a rebuild, and I now have to cut and weld patches in the roof due to rust under the legs which was hidden from view. I personly will not be going that way again.
