Would anyone know the approximate build date of a 308 with just the engine number? the number is 11QT724163. Any help would be really good. thankyou

Its from a Statesman around HJ-HX, check date cast code on the passenger side near the timing case. Should be like 15F7.

ok thanks, so there is no way to tell apart from th cast code? the engine is about 45mins away, i dont have a car to go and check it. hopefully its the right one for my LX torana.

LX 308s would have a HT prefix, but the era is correct.

Plus it will be a TH400 pattern block as its from a Statesman.
