Nice !
Im assuming you got the 9 inch cut shorter than stock HK to get them rear wheels in?
I plan on modifying and using my 8 3/4 mustang diff and wish to run 15 x 8 rims with 265 tyres but with the deepest dish possible.
Could you tell me the legnth of your 9 inch and in your opinion, how much shorter could you have gone if youd wanted ?
Im also assuming you havent modified your wheel tubs ?
Heres a link to my rebuild...I got a long way to go :-(

What I did was remove the diff and springs from the vehicle and placed my wheels and tyres inside the wheel arch and let the vehicle down to the right height.

I then got the same clearance on the inner guards using a 15mm board as my desired clearance then measured the distance between the mags (I placed a piece on metal rod through the holes where the mag caps go so no bending of a tape measure) and that gave me my distance.

You will have to do the same as all mags have different off sets. I should have gone 20mm clearance as the wheels scrape only when I go into drive ways I have the standard 350 spacer plate behind the wheels but i could always buy an extra 10mm plate to get it out further but what the hell I just dont go into steep drives so no problem.

Once you have your measurement tell the guy you want the yoke in the middle and here is the width I want no problems, I gave him my old housing and I got him to use the standard backing plates and drums with the same stud pattern. You can not have mixed stud patterns in QLD RWCs so all my brakes are genuine fitment. You will have to get a mod plate for the transplant. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that mate. My plans are to get some 15 x 8 and 15 x 7 rims made up from HQ-Z centres so i guess i get my wheels made up and tyres on before i go onto the diff. Bugger using spacers.
Cheers, Dusty.
