Just like to ask about bolting up seats after putting in new carpet in my ute. some time ago i lost the tips off a couple of fingers and cant feel and hold on to the bolts properly. what im asking is. if i put the bolts from the bottom up and push the carpet over it and place the seats over the studs and tighten them with nuts. would that be strong enough to hold the seats in place.

I thought the bolts sticking up would foul the seat sliders. How about using cap screws (5/16 grade 5 or 8) so that you can put the bolt onto an allen key and push it into place from inside the cab, then put the nut on under the floor pan.
