Ci Performance has released performance clutch options for Holden’s new 6.0L VE Commodore. The VE is a great platform for enthusiasts, however the potential power unleashed by the performance specialists needs to get to the back wheels. That’s the job of the clutch.
CI Performance are leaders in V8 clutch development and were called in on the ultimate test, the Black VE Club sport prepared by Dale Patterson Motorsport. The challenge – how to harness:
Stroked 6.8Ltre VE (412 ci)
Harrop H122 Top Mount Blower
450 rear wheel KW (603 Horsepower at the rear wheels)
Engine producing 984Nm of Torque
Michael Baise – lead engineer on the development project for CI Performance said – “It has got to be the most powerful car I’ve ever driven – huge power”.
CIP concentrated on designing a clutch that held the torque but delivered better pedal feel (defined as point of engagement, modulation, pedal height) and comfortable pedal effort.
The new CI Performance Kit - RPM2421N – delivers on all counts. Dale Patterson, proprietor says “the pedal feel is the best they have ever had”. Great pedal feel and it holds the torque of one of the most powerful VE’s ever built. By any definition it was a success.
The kit is now available through CIP distributors and includes all parts required (including flywheel) and installation notes.
