I have a set of these and wish to repaint/restore them to their former glory in the honeycomb colour. Has anyone done this, what did you do and how did you do it. I have spoken to several auto paint outlets in melb and they look at me blank as the inserts are rubber and they have no referances to the original colour etc.Was it acrylic or two paint, solvent based or what. I am getting the wheels sand blasted, one done already and looks great. Any info greatly appreciated..Thanks

The colour will depend on whether you want them to be gold (which came on the 2 door LE) or whether you want them silver (which was the colour that they came if you ordered honeycomb wheels for any other trim level eg Kingswood, GTS, Statesman etc).

You sandblast polycast wheels with crushed walnut shell. Anything else is too abrasive.

I restored mine for my LE Blasted then used Sicaflex to fill the porous holes from the casting process. Used a sikkens paint which is very close to the orig, came up tops. If you need paint number let me know Chris
