Dear Gary or Dr Terry and others,

Was wondering what your advice would be on my idea to put an EFI VN V8 into my tonner. I am wondering if the Tonners 2.78 Salsibury diff will be able to handle the EFI motor n T5 gearbox?? or Is a 3.08 salsibury a better option and why??

cheers

Hi Guys.

Because 1 Tonners were load carrying vehicles they rarely had tall diffs like 2.78. It was probably made up or could have been out of a 308 Auto ute or similar.

Anyway to answer your question, 3.08 & 2.78 are way too tall for a Ma

3.36 is the go. I've got exactly the same gear as you matched to the 3.36 and am very happy with it.

Cheers, Steve.
