I'm looking for opinions and experiences and pictures of XY GT Bonnet Stripes - particularly where they cross the Scuttle Panel.

I have this drawing but am not happy with the stripes as they cross the Scuttle Panel - they do not line up with slots or ribs exactly:

Here are some pics I took at a Cairns AFD showing 4 ways of doing it:

I like the white car the best and using those slots on the Scuttle Panel comes pretty close (within 1/8") of the drawings.

I think the best way to mark out the stripes is to work from the slots on the Scuttle Panel.

Leave the centre 3 slots, run the 1/4" detail stripes through the next two slots and make the big stripes as wide as the remaining slots on each side.

I reckon the boys at the Ford paint shop did it as described above and then took measurements to make up the drawing...

So if anyone here has an XY with bonnet stripes, please post a picture of the scuttle to show how it is done.

Other ideas and opinions on this are welcome...
