I have finally finshed the body work on the HQ ute. It took a while considering I have had the ute since 86. However difficult when it is a daily driver. The worse thing is I had to go overseas for 3 years to find the time to get it done. So I have only seen the photo's, it looks great. My family have put the ute into storage in a semi open carport so will get no direct rain or sun over the next few years. What should I cover the the vehicle with? Would just a standard ute cover do? I personally would cover it with a well fitting cloth cover or a horse blanket.
Cloth will breath, If the car has a motor take out the plugs and with a squirter oil bottle put a few pumps in each piston. Then replace the plugs.
Put new coolant in it

Hi ,I dont know how true this is(but someone will)i have heard of people completely filling theyre engines with oil and i mean right up to the rockers,has anyone else heard this?ps put a set of crappy tyres/rims on it |

I pulled a motorcycle engine apart last R&R which had been sitting since 2002. It was not prepared for storage in any way and had not been turned over in that time. I was not concerned as this is a complete restro job, but was surprised to find a nice oil

Hi yep, BlwnQ is right i didnt do this and pretty much regret it .
so dont be lazy like me,my cars are american sports cars , one is/was black,the other is/was white but now both are brown(lots of dust lol)
and im almost scared to hit the key not to men |

dont leave the handbrake on it will leave part of the wheel cylinders bores exposed and cause them to rust. also try to put a ground sheet as the moisture condenses up from the ground to under the floor and rusts.
