VL engine would be about the same degree of difficulty as the V6. Both would require that you use the donor car's engine, box, fuel tank with pump/s and front cross member.

thanks jim5.0 ill put some thought to doing that,id probaly still rather do the motor change as i have customised the inside of my vk and it would be a pain to swap it all to another car.

Another thought. If you don't mind losing the ability to run on petrol you can just fit your existing 3.3 with a good set of headers and an EFI inlet manifold with the injector holes blocked off and the throttle body replaced with a Gas Research mixer

thanks for that idea i might have to do some thinking about that, with headers i heard a rumor that standard exhaust manifold acts like headers is this true?

The VK EFI's had stainless steel headers as standard fitment. These were as good or better than any aftermarket headers at the time.
