Hello all,
I have just picked up an ex-ambulance VR Commodore ute, and was wondering if anyone knows exactly how much longer than a standard ute they are? I dont know anyone with a standard one, and I would probably upset someone by just walking up and measuring a strangers ute!! It looks to me to be about 600mm longer, just at a rough guess, but would like to know exactly. The reason I want to know is that I have a friend up the bush who has a tonneau cover for my model that he said he can extend for me (he is an upholsterer by trade and even though he doesnt work in the industry any more, he still has most of his equipment)and just needs to know EXACTLY how much to extend it by.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Jeanette

Do you know someone with a VN-VS wagon? They are the same platform as the utes.

All you need to do is measure the distance between the centre of the front and rear wheels (wheelbase).

Do it on both sides to get the average measurement as you fron

Earier way is to measure the difference in distance from the back of the doors to the same point on the rear wheelarch

I just measured from the back window to the inside of the tail gate and it came up at 1780mm.

Hope this helps.
