rito guys this is guna sound a dumb question but im having huge probs getting the trans cross member up into its home,the motor is 308,trimatic blot pattern,Th400 trans with adapter plate,seems theres no room to get cross member up into posistion,and after alot of lost knuckle skin and swearing doesnt want to get in there,any hints or tecnic for getting her home? please dont say i need to drop the trans to get it all up? any help would be awesome thanks in advance

Is it a proper TH400 crossmember? TH400 also has a rear mount that is about half the thickness as a trimatic. The other problem may be that you have pushed the box backwards about 20mm with one of those "useless" adapters.

Hi ive just had a thought about this,maybe it would be easier to take off your engine mounts,then do the box an see how far out you are up front. probably 20mm (lol)im trying to do the same to a hq windowless pany so let me know how you go...ps im usein |

yea i wish it was turbo bolt pattern block,ive heard lot bad things with the adapter plates putting stran on spline and tourqe converter.no other way round it other than re-drilling block yeah?? so its because im to far back with whole lot it wont go in?

Hi Sikute I fitted a HQ 350 and turbo 400 to a HJ ute I had back in the 80's. From memory I turned the original gearbox crossmember around so that the holes were further back and did a cut and shut on the now front side of the crossmember to clear the au

Sikute I started with a 308 and trimatic on my HQ tonner. When I installed the TH700 I pulled the crossmember back 10mm and welded a 6 x 75 x 230 mm plate under the crossmember then sat the tx mount on that. If you have a trimatic crossmember you will
