Hoping someone can help ASAP...My mate has his F350 over my pit and has the pan off his C10 auto but he's hit two problems stopping him getting it out my shed so i can lock her up.
Problem one is his dipstick is not the correct one for his auto so it's useless...How many litres does a C10 take ?...The torque convertor is still full AFAIK as only the pan was dropped to clean it out

Second question is that when he pulled the screen (filter ?) out, a spring flew out from behind it and also a steel cap thing that sits inside the top/bottom of the spring..Does the steel cap go on the top or bottom of the spring ? or in other words, does that steel cap go on the filter side or other side and up into the box ?

Hoping someone can help and all assistance much appreciated.

Steel plug first, spring next, then filter.

Full is with the oil level with the top of the pan rail with the car running. I'd pull the dipstick out, hold it next to the tube and mark where the pan rail is, that way you'll know how full to fill it.
