Hi All
I was wondering whether there are any good books on the history of the Monaro (which include the HJ) and where might be able to get my hands on one in Perth.

Mark, I have a book called "Spotlight on Holden Monaro", the guide for owners, buyers and enthusists written by Tony Davis. Covers models from 1968 - 1979. Published by Marque from the Marque Spotlight Series.Distributes by Bookworks, 56 Bonds Road, Punch

There is only one very good and comprehensive book, but very hard to find. "The Monaro Story/Facts" by Warren Turnbull and Ben Stewart.

Yes, I agree 100% that would be the best book to get but they are rare as hens teeth and just as expensive. The book I mentioned is widely available and nnot as expnesive. Thanks Pete

Check out "History of teh Holden V8" by Fiv Antoniou
Excellent for a detailed history and specs of both Monaro and Torana

As suggested above, the only place you will find a history on the HJ Monaro is in the first chapter of The Monaro Story side of The Monaro Facts/The Monaro Story book. Some additional information can be found in the following chapters. A b

A recent release is by Bob Watson who worked at Holden during the develeopment of the Monaro. A great read for any Monaro enthusiast by someone who really knows the cars and not by someone who thinks they know the cars. Bobs insight into the testing phase

There is a Monaro story on Ebay at the moment. Just depends how bad you want it and how much you wanna spend, and just to clarify its not mine and I am not trying to jack the price up. If I thought I wouldnt get killed by the cook I would buy it myself.
