can anyone tell me on average what type of clearance is expected between tyre and outer guard without rubbing? ive just got a vn diff shortened by pat gardener to fit an fc wagon. standard leaf springs at moment but will get new stiffer ones so it doesnt bounce round like a fat chicks arse. with commodore pursuit wheels (205 tyres) the tire sits very close to the outer guard. for starters i had to pull the springs in a bit 4 diff to locate, and they are not even both sides!! ones about 14mm the other about 7. average say ten. is the offset of pursuit rims +40mm?? if so the wheels im looking at are +48mm which will give me an extra 3mm if my maths is correct. i currently have (on average! about 35mm between tyre and inner guard. i would have bought a 4 wheel drive if i liked the look but i want to lower the guard over the rear tyre. any comments, suggestions much appreciated
