hey yall,
today removed exhaust manifold from 308,, drivers side]
and on it some sort of gizmo, with a flap inside an extra bit of exhaust manifold????
i was wondering what it was ???
it is a red 308 out of a vb commodore, sle euro,
was it to even out exhaust pressure??hhhmm??
it was wired up open anyways, so was not doing anything. so i will get new exhaust made with out it.
this manifold had a broken back flange, so need another manifold.

question??>>>

if i get headers for these heads now, will headers fit later model heads from vn>vp 308??
or am i better to just put old manifold back on for now, untill i get new heads??
just wondering whether they will fit?
thanks already

The flap is to force the exhaust to pass through the passage in the inlet manifold to assist with the warm up cycle.
