OK, i thought the mixture screw on my single-barrell stromberg adjusted the mixture across the whole range of flow. But now ive seen (in a tuning guide) that it's only on the idle circuit, and that when vacuum's sufficient, fuel is drawn from the main circuit(of course) and bypasses this needle entirely? Is that right or am i being daft?

Sorry for such a lame question.

In replying to your post above, Ill first tell you that Im a 59yrs young bloke,and am not too good on the PC, but half resonable fela crawling all over the early model cars.

Mate, thankyou, youre a legend.

I find myself in these situations. Having done full engine builds (dads a reconditioner....it helps..haha), ported heads, rebult half the bloody car and tinker every night..i can do most things. And then get stumped by l
