Does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not i should use GM sealer or equivelant on my bolts for the water pump and intake manifold? Is it necessary??

I dont think many of the holes lead into a water jacket but if you dont coat the threads they may still rust in place if the gasket weeps. I always use the permatex sealant, works fine and way cheaper.

Use the permatex as tony said, it cheaper and really good stuff, i put it on all my bolts and the head and water pump. I work at nissan and they actually say to use it so seal water pump gaskets
Its a small price to pay for something everyone should have
