Hi all, just purchased my first Ford, an EL wagon. It still runs the factory radio/cassette player. I wish to fit a CD player and since I've never worked on a car this new are there any tips & tricks I should know? I assume an 'off the shelf' CD player will fit the same hole in the dash when the radio/cassette is removed??
Thanks

Hello Peter, Yes an aftermarket stereo will fit. Having not owned an EF/EL for 13 years I can't remember that much about the dash except that it's just a rounded off version of the EA-ED dash so removal of the stereo means removal of the bezel.

Another handy tip is to buy a wiring adapter from supercheap or autobarn that fits the EL loom ($30 from memory). You splice the wires from this to your new cd player, then you just plug it into the car loom. Much easier to join the wires as the unit is o

If it is the oriinal radio from that exact car, It should be recorded in your owners manual/paperwork in the glovebox if you still have it, if not you can ring Ford and give them your VIN number and they should be able to tell you your code over the phone
