hey all, ive lent my brothers vk 253 its on gas and badly needs a tune can anyone tell me the best way to tune it such as how many turns of the 2 knobs on the mixer and how many turns on the knob thats on the hose that goes to the carby. cheers

its not that simple if it were there wouldnt be knobs they would be factory set.

1/ whats ti doing wrong?
2/ what system is it, Landi, Impco etc?
3/ straight gas / duel fuel?

Assuming its duel fuel on a carb.
youll have 2 Mixture screws on the Converter,
and 1 on the line running to the Mixer.
Is it economical - Poor take off - Weak / Good cruise? (Up inclines)
Is it economical - Good take off - Weak / Good cruise?
Is it poor economy - Poor take off - weakcruise.
Is it poor Economy - Poor take off - Normal cruise.

Hows the idle? Is it over heating?

Make sure the air horn is tight and sealed to the top of the carby if Impco.

you need a 02 meter

must be running good on petrol first.........
plugs points leads etc
then get lpg running

only $70 for a tune anyway...

probably be better to get a mechanic to do it, gas systems are far too touchy for my liking
