On a manual steer 72 Kingsood. I can see how badly worn it is because it travels several mm before engaging the steering arms. Is it a bushing, or the arm itself?

Hi There, sounds like your drag link need replacing. If the pitman arm is moving on the splined shaft from the steering box then the nut is loose or you have a more serious problem which could be the spline is worn on the arm or box.

get someone to jump in the car and steer for you, then carefully check it all the links. it could be lose nuts, could b worn spline or even be in the box. Just take a close look at everything. cheers
