After 18 months doing up ute & getting close to roadworthy have found the fuel gauge does not work. Who should I take it to - auto electrician or mechanic. Or are there simple checks I should make first. Thanks for any help in this matter.

HI , first of all is it the one that worked in the car before, or a replacement?have you changed the fuel tank or the sender in the rebuild?
If not ,then start by checking ALL the wires at the back of the gauge and tank,then try another gauge on it(just

Thanks Jim - your input is appreciated. Im not sure if the gauge worked prior to the rebuild as the ute wasnt a runner. I did pull the tank out, but not the sender from the tank. Just put it back in and connected it all up. Will follow your suggestions an
