Lads, I want to get a bit more grunt out of my stock 308 hq monaro. I had a complete re-build about 350klms ago. It hasnt done much work. I want to get a lumpy cam for the tough sound. And get some new heads.
Any suggestions.

If you want grunt (ie torque) a bigger cam and heads alone will probably remove usable torque. Itd probably be easier to pull the engine out and replace the bottom end with a 3.75" stroke crank, and keep the original 308 bottom end aside especially if its

Yeh the 308 numbers match, I dont really want to pull motor out etc. I will have a look at option 2. it has the quad carby already, I have never had it dynod. What type of ignition do you mean? And what type of extrators, and cam to sui

Get quadrajet sorted out properly on the dyno plus a cold air intake setup, possibly similar to what some of the VH/VK Brocks had.

Tri-Y extractors - Perry, Pacemaker etc.

HEI - blue/black motor, but graph it to suit the rest of the motor.

Getting the air in and out of the engine will unlock some horsepower, so bigger valves, a bigger cam overlap, extractors and a better manifold will be a step in the right direction.

If you want to rev it a single plane manifold and 4 into 1 headers are

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.
