can one change the bell housing on a vk trimatic to open type used on the earlier trimatics ? and how do they bolt the torque converter to the ring gear useing the full bell houseing ? cheers

I didnt think VK had the full bellhousing. Certainly not on the EFI engine anyway. As far as I know you can interchange them though. Check with an auto transmission shop first.

thanks hk picked one up yesterday and have the vk service manual it has the full bell housing dont know about the efi it would have to be the same only thing is the linkages on the wrong side for my hq cheers

Ive used a few VK EFI boxes over the years and they were all half bellhousings. All VK boxes should have LH side shift. If you want to use one in a HQ just change your T-bar over to a TH400 example, unless its a column shift of course!
