Just wondering if its possible to have the large area of a 302 windsor sump moved to the rear of the engine.

You have a couple of choices here. Firstly you could get your sump modified but to get the same done to an RB30 Nissan donk or Commodore V6 you are looking at about $450 from V6 conversions or CRS so I would guess that any sump is roughly that much.
