How much coolant does it take to keep them cool.

The service manual that I have doesn't mention the cooling system (except for how to rebuild water pumps) but from memory the pre 1949 V8s
had a few cooling problems but after that (Single spinner through to '54) they had it fairly well sorted out,so I'd

I'm looking to find a half decent V8 flat head and was a little concerned about there cooling problems but now feel better. Must get a 1950 to 1954 engine.
