hi guys i am having trouble getting my car started after doing some fuel economy experiments which should make the car run cooler and save petrol but now she wont start. i think i may have put to much water in, what is the most rasheo of water to petrol you can have? i started with 3/4 tank petrol and topped up to full with water. car started and ran good but then it died and she wont kick over. do i need to ajust the timming or anything else to make it run better on water/petrol mix? i think i should have started with less water. cheers jase

i wouldnt have put water in there in the first place if you want ya car to run cheaper put gas on ya car, If your car is injection you probaly have clogged the injectors or you havent got a good enough spark to ignite the fuel

Considering that a few mills of water is enough to block the carby jets I am not surprised a 1/4 tank does. drain it all out, clean the fuel lines, carby, pump, tank, and use petrol. The usual way to run water is to use an injection technique.

Hi Tom,
MrHQute is close on the $$$. The concept is very old. I have heard that due to shortages in top quality fuel in WW2, the Allies, and maybe the Germans used alco/water injection to increase the grunt and long range economy of their fighters and

Well, there you go!!!
The problem I see with aircraft using a water/fuel mix at altitude is that the water has the potential to freeze. I guess they would have overcome this with a anti icing agent within the mixture. I guess we are all looking at op |
