Just finished the build of my VK Calais with a VN 5.0lt top end. Before i fire it up, is there anything i should check, apart fom the obvious. I was thinking of connecting the battery up before i put the computer in, just in case it decides to self destruct as i did all the wiring and work myself, Cheers

The computer should never be connected or disconnected when the battery is connected, you risk damaging the computer

Put computer in first, THEN connect battery POSITIVE terminal FIRST.....Repeat...POSITIVE terminal FIRST!!!! Otherwise you risk frying the pooter if you have something wrong or there is a power surge through the wiring.

I understand what you are saying...you want to connect it up with the computer in to see if things are OK, disconnect the battery, fit the computer and reconnect the battery...sounds smart to me.
