Definitely worth selling. The knock sensor harnesses you could buy new recently but the engine harness has been nil stock for a while. I bought a few VR/VS manual ones new while they were still available as I couldnt get VN or VP examples.

Knock sensor harness was a separate item, and only HBD or HSV engines had the knock sensor. These were the 180kW engines in VN/VP, and were available across the board not just on SS. Im not sure if they were sold as HBD in VN/VP or if they were HSV engine Edited by user Sunday, 28 December 2008 7:49:02 AM(UTC)

Only the HSV 180 & 200kw engine harness had the knock sensor wire with them. The VN SS had the same harness as all other non-HSV VN V8s, with no knock sensor wire.
Ive seen the new ones go for $200+ and get snapped up within minutes of being advertise |

HSV or HBD. The 180kW (185kW and 195kW in later models) was available as an option on non HSV vehicles as a "Holden by Design" option. So it could be a HSV engine, or a HBD engine from a Holden.

You could also buy the single wire, knock-sensor, and memcal, from ebay and other places (even some holden dealers sold them) as a kit. Many of these have been added over the years to a lot of cars.

Mick I remember looking at a red VN SS manual that was HSV enhanced for the motor for my Overlander. It had all the stuff you mention.

Yeah, theres quite a number of HSV enhanced VN SSs. In the VN, the minimum requirement for a HSV enhanced car was an SS as the base (or Berlina, Calais, Stato or Caprice).
A mate of mine bought a grey 5L 5-speed VN SS as a donor for a project. Worked |
