Hi there,

i currently run the three speed manual with a 253 in the HQ. I have purchased a 308 turbo pattern block with a standard bore. I have yet to determine of this needs a home or rebore yet.

I have seen advertised locally a cheap 308 tri matic block that is already 30' over bored that apparently only needs a hone.

Do you think I should continue with the turbo block and get the block drilled to fit the manual bell housing or would it be better to have a tri matic block from the get go?

Cheers

Brian

Go the trimatic block you already have the gearbox to fit, with what you will have to pay for re-drilling the turbo block to tri pattern might as well start with it in the first place. I doubt the tri block will just need a hone but at worst you will mor

CRS and Dellow have made Chev/HoldenTH to aussie 3/4spd for a long time that work OK with HQ and HJ clutch setups. They dont work well with HZ or HZ 1/2 cable setups. These bellhousings are pretty common secondhand. If you can find one use it with the TH

3 speed manual is the standard box behind a 253 for most of HT-HZ. Thats why 253 powered GTS optioned HQ Kingswood sedans show M20 where GTS coupes are blank, as the Kingswood is standard with an M15 3spd.
