Researching this book that I have been commissioned to write on Holden & Ford, I have been using Fast Lane as a means to garner certain information and pick the learned minds of hard core enthusiasts on such matters as production numbers etc. In doing this some interesting differences have come to light. Ford forums tend to have far more 'lookers' than contributors, and I have been unable to glean much useful information at all, where as on the Holden forum the ratio of the number of people who contribute with genuine information and who don't just want to talk about themselves as compared to casual 'lookers' is much higher. I have gotten much useful info from the the Holden Forum, as it's readers appear to be genuinely informed enthusiasts. This revelation in itself will make for an interesting chapter in the book.

Possibly a good point, but ford also kept better records than holden during the "early era", so for a ford boy it is much easier to gain build numbers, code translations and such like, whereas the holden boys have to sift thru endless paperwork found on t

now now, never confuse movement with action. Just joking. The Ford forum on this site has always been more quiet than the holden side. It has less posters and I believe less viewers. There are other forums for both ford and holden on the net. Places

As paul says, whip round a few of the other places on the net. Ummm the aclf i think is undergoing some changes at this stage. www.fordforums.com.au is quite good. really a poor effort on research for a book if you base a whole chapter from what you see o
