I have just driven from home to Canberra in the new (to us) family wagon. After one hour we noticed that the floors were soaking wet and water was dripping from behind the glove box and under the stereo onto the drivers floor. Is this a common problem? Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks in advance, Ken

If it's anything like the old air con systems check the air con drain pipe under the car. It may be blocked or damaged. Usually mud or hornets nests are the cause so be a tad careful if it's the latter.

Okay. Great info. I cant get right under the car atm so I cant even see a drain tube / pipe/ exit. Any ideas where the drain might be? And look like? Regards, Ken

It will just be a piece of pipe sticking out. I'm guessing from the region of where the flooding occured. Never really looked at a BA set up before so it's all work for me. Sorry. Ar a guess, passengers side bottom of the firewall closer to the gearbo

On my wife's Commodore which seems to block these tubes quite regularly they are above the transmission. I just poke at them with a bit of wire.

Beware you may get a face full of skanky water when the blockage is released.

yep, exactly right. It is directly above the gearbox - just behind the engine / box junction. It is a little yellow rubber valve thingo. It was blocked with a bit of muddy stuff. I rubbed it with my finger and hey presto! lots of water dripping all of you

Hello again. Well it was fixed for a day. Then it was leaking water back on the floor again. So I bit the bullet and visted the Ford Dealer in Belconnen. The service dept knew exactly what the problem was, the car was up and down and fixed in 10 minutes -
