Thanks: 5 times
hi guys
I have a triple gauge in my WB ute and the fuel gauge needle starting sinking to empty when the tank was anything but empty. It then started happening more regularly until now, when it only reads full when the tank has just been filled, and then sinks to empty after a minute or so. The temp and oil gauge read perfectly fine.

Any ideas/suggestions before I start swapping gauges or jacking the car up and squeezing underneath to check wires on the sender unit? its easier typing a question first!
cheers franklin

it sounds like the fuel tank float is holed.

i had a fairly similar problem with mine. Mine was a mix of bad connections at the sender and low battery voltage. Cleaned up the terminals and got a new alternator and all was fine. mite be worth a look.

thanks guys
the day I posted the original thread, the damn thing starting working perfectly (it must have known!) and has only just faded again on the way to work today. So it sounds like a dodgy connection. thanks for all the tips.
