WE NEED TO CREATE A CORPORATE BODY IN PLACE WHERE MONARO OWNERS CAN GET THEIR PRIZED VEHICLE VALIDATED PHOTGRAPHED AND PUT ON A REGISTER WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. THEN OWNERS CAN GET THEIR ID TAGS REMOVED AND PUT IN SAFE KEEPING. THIS WILL KEEP THE CARS VALUE UP AND STOP IMMITATIONS, AS REAL OWNERS OF AUTHENTIC VEHICLES WILL GET THEIR VEHICLES VALIDATED BEFORE SELLING. IDEA IS FROM A FASTLANE FRIEND YOUR COMMENTS APPRECIATED GOOD OR BAD ESPECIALLY YOURS WARREN
FOOD FOR THOUGHT

why would you want to do that? if you did that, all the owners of these "valuable" cars wouldnt have the original rivets holding on their tags, so the car is just about worthless then, and we cant have that on a genuiune car now, can we?

YES THATS TRUE BUT YOU DONT NEED TO REMOVE THE TAGS, BUT AT LEAST IF THE TAGS GET STOLEN YOU HAVE FULL DOCUMENTATION THAT SAYS YOUR VEHICLE IS AUTHENTIC.

Best solution is have FASTLANE solictor draw up a legally binding document that says, should this cars tags be removed or tampered with, your a** will be sued for $10millAUD and all your employees with it.
Find a shop to sign it, and you can trust em !

Glad I have a common garden variety EH that I dont even have a body plate attached to it. They look messy and all the Roads Authority care about is the stamped chassis number. My car, dont car if it is "worth" $50. This value and worth thing is snobbery a |

The idea is fine, the implimentation might be a bit hard. I assume the validation would be dne by a "reputable" person, I certainly would not accept a validation from just any one, infact if I was to validate a car I would want to see it in person. So if

The problem is what is stopping some one reproducing tags and then the certification as well.
Tags on Monaros up to late HT are a total waste of time as they do not match in all most every case the fire wall number. Hence it has been easy to put any ta

Its not just Monaros Phil. Similar sentiment exists with Toranas on one site and Commodores on another. It has been around a long time with certain Fords but only crept into Holdens once they became valuable. Im not saying the sentiment is wrong - anyone |

Some good points raised..... I would just like to put forward another scenario for discussion...
a guy is about to pay $100,000 plus for a HK 327... he flys warren t. to far nth queensland to inspect the car... warren confirms that the car is a genuine

Valid points. There are ways and means of protecting any investment you make from risk, whether that be by insurance (not valid in this case) or by removing tags yourself or by not letting that investment out of your sight. From my own personal perspecti |

Exactly. My Ultra violet SS is about to go to a very reputable restorer here in Perth. Now I want a complete resto done and the tags have to come off for that as the rust is very near to them. While not for sale as this is a rebuild for my boy, I dont be

Hello Ben, and everyone else, The idea of formal document which confirms a particular vehicles position within the Monaro Register, sounds good to me. As stated previously, it would not be legally-binding, or verification of a cars originality, but merel |
