Question guys: my 40thou over 202 currently makes a hair under 100HP at the wheels, with a new head to come (worked red or YT, not sure yet). Currently a lightly home ported stock head. Running at the moment, free-flow headers, 2 inch system, straight through muffler.

Its got a decent cam, twin-carb induction. I think the head's a restriction.

One opinion is that my exhaust is borderline too small as it is, and with expected gains, i'm thinking 2 1/4, 2 1/2 is more appropriate?

Are you after torque or top end power?

If you are looking to get a higher number on the dyno then go with the 2 1/2" system with straight through muffler.

This motor has torque to spare. Literally like a table form low till about 4000, then only tapers slightly. So its certainly no loss if i go bigger. Im not chasing a flattering dyno figure, but i just think it might flow a little better, especially with t
