One day, something will go smoothly with this motor...haha.
Fitted some shaft mount YT rollers, 1.5-1 adjustable. Set the preload as specced, and they seemed a little noisey. Not proper tapping, just a little of what youd call a classic tappet...well...tap.
Went a 1/4 turn extra on preload, still there. It's very even and constistant though...had the stethascope on all of them.
So as i run through the myriad little checks, just a quick question. A few people say that roller rockers, by their nature, are a little noisey?
This is in a hydraulic cam and lifters.
Cheers. |

were they new?, maybe the rollers are a bit dry? oil-can a bit of running in oil on them maybe?. i preload with approx 1/3 turn. re load after lifters have run for about 1 hour, while running. WANTED: QR 662xxx 1984 WB oyster crashpad 1x15x8 Edited by user Wednesday, 4 February 2009 8:07:22 AM(UTC)

Cheers guys. Theyre brand new, well lubed, but not adjustable on the go, as theyre shaft mount, so its the pushrod cups that are adjustable, not the rocker itself. |
