Does anyone know how a factory rear louvre was bolted to the roof of a 2door .I have the louvre and the roof only has holes in it,no nuts welded inside it.Ford verification says it was factory fitted rear louvre.Were there special retainers and if so where can you get them from. Thanks.

E-mail me on [email protected] as I have no f?#*n idea how to post images, I took a couple of pics of the retainers and screws when I last had mine out. The retainer screws onto the screw and drops in the hole vertically with the screw, once in the hole

302superbird try downloading your pics from your PC to photobucket or another free photo hosting site. You then cut and paste the link under the photo here and theoretically a pic should show up. Not sure if you have to be signed in here as a member to

G'day,while you guys are on the subject of coupe rear window louvre's,I have a question about them.
What was the factory louvre made out of,fibreglass or metal? I have seen both and they look pretty much the same from a metre away.

Cheers Paul I will try that some time. I believe they are 100% fibreglass as they were common to snapping the lower corners off. My 2 look like full fibreglass units.

I'm guessing one might be dealer ( motorcraft ) and the other might be factory. That's just a blind stab. And I've no idea which would be which. Bit like the old rear factory spoiler debate with the alloy and glass.

Mysteries of the GREAT FORD UNIVERSE!!!
I also have a fibreglass louvre but I'm leaning towards the metal louvre's as being the original ones. The reason I think this is that about 6 years ago I saw a metal louvre fitted to a pretty original superbird

You are correct about the fibreglass louvres being more common, as my mate has 2, 1 from an XA GT and another from a Superbird. My Superbird was a 1 owner and has the fibreglass type. I still believe they were fibreglass. If only the XA Superbird websites
